In September I received a request that I often receive to donate a piece of art to an auction. This one however struck me as different from the others. Julie Shutt at the Diabetes Youth Foundation of Indiana contacted me and stated that she saw an article in “the Nuvo magazine and immediately loved the colors and vibrancy” of my work. I gave Julie the guidelines created by IDADA for an artist to successfully to contribute to an auction and she agreed.
Julie explained that the proceeds from the auction go towards a camp program for children with special needs, primarily Type 1 diabetes and autism. This seems especially important to me as a father and therefore I was glad to donate my work to such a worthy cause.
Julie has been open-minded, professional and trustworthy. She has visited the studio and helped select the art for the auction. I am donating three pieces that will be auctioned at the Hyatt Regency downtown at their 9th Annual Dinner and Silent Auction on November 19th.
I wish Julie and the Diabetes Youth Foundation of Indiana great success!
