Out of Bounds: Painting Big in a Space That Matched the Vision

When I first imagined showing my large-scale work in a truly immersive setting, I never pictured it happening at Saks Fifth Avenue—but that’s exactly what made it the perfect venue.

This wasn’t a traditional gallery. It was better.
Tucked inside the high-end retail space in Indianapolis, the Out of Bounds show presented by High Frequency Arts gave me the opportunity to do something I’ve always believed in—bring contemporary, large-format artwork into unexpected environments where it can catch people off guard, spark emotion, and transform the energy of a space.

Saks Fifth Avenue offered a dynamic backdrop.

Its open layout, bold architecture, and steady foot traffic made it an ideal setting to showcase the kind of work I love to create—paintings that are big, layered, bold, and made to live in conversation with the space around them.

What I’ve always loved about large-scale painting is the way it can command attention without saying a word.
When placed in the right setting—be it a gallery, a home, an office, or a luxury retail environment—these paintings don’t just fill space; they reshape it.

They invite movement, pause, and curiosity.
They become architecture in their own right.

The mission paid off.
The Saks show led to multiple sales, commissions, and new connections—proof that big ideas need big spaces, and that art doesn’t have to stay within the bounds of the white wall gallery.

I’m grateful to High Frequency Arts for championing artists like me who are working at scale and exploring new ways to reach people where they least expect it.

It turns out that sometimes, going out of bounds is exactly the point.
